Md. Zohurul Islam is one of the few public health specialists in Bangladesh who has completed his journey of 60 months with Honor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Public Health and Informatics in Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka-1342, Bangladesh. He is keen to know the innovative idea of public health and courage acceptance, especially during the fieldwork of public health research and health system research in Bangladesh. He has had vast experiences working in different arenas, such as the Health Economics Unit (HEU), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Alternative Medical Care Unit (AMC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Institute of Allergy and Clinical Immunology of Bangladesh (IACIB), Dhaka.  Some of his research articles on public health were published in world-renowned journals, including PLOS ONE, Sleep Science, PLOS Global Public Health etc.
