About

Dr. Farhadur Reza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. In 2011, he joined as a Lecturer in the same department. He was awarded the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship from the Government of Japan in 2018. Afterward, he accomplished his PhD in Urban Design from the Saga University, Japan in 2021. Previously, he obtained Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) degree from the Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.

  • Conducted day long workshop on “The mapping of Geneva Camp land and feasibility of rehabilitation of the Camp residents” as an ‘Adviser’ in Community led development of Urdu Speaking “Bihari” Camps in Bangladeshis, hosted by Council of Minorities (COM),Bangladesh (2022).
  • Speech on “Climate Change and Quantitative Research” as a ‘Chief Guest’ on Deep Ecology Environmental Forum, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh (2021).
  • Preparation of “City (Municipality) Profile Report” of Taherpur, Shibganj, Godagari and Noahata Municipality, Rajshahi under “Enhancing Urban Government (EUG) Project” implemented by GIZ (2015).
  • Worked as an ‘Expert Member’ in “Culture & Heritage” group; a study-based conference and publication titled as “Dhaka for Future Generations: Our Actions” organized by Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) and Centre for Development Communication (CDC) (2015).
